Iowa Department of Education, UI launch new pre-K-12 school mental health center

The new Scanlan Center for School Mental Health, a partnership between the Iowa Department of Education and the University of Iowa College of Education, will provide mental health support and expertise to teachers and students across the state.

Didion receives Carver Trust grant to help at-risk readers

Elementary students with or at risk for reading disabilities will improve their fluency thanks to a new $85,000 Carver Trust grant. Lisa Didion, College of Education special education assistant professor, is the grant principal investigator.
