The new Scanlan Center for School Mental Health, a partnership between the Iowa Department of Education and the University of Iowa College of Education, will provide mental health support and expertise to teachers and students across the state.

Iowa youth living in rural, medically underserved communities will gain access to more mental and behavioral health experts thanks to a nearly $2 million dollar grant led by experts in the College of Education and other campus and community partners.

Gerta Bardhoshi, an associate professor in the Department of Rehabilitation and Counselor Education, has been named a top contributor to the Journal of Counseling and Development.

Elementary students with or at risk for reading disabilities will improve their fluency thanks to a new $85,000 Carver Trust grant. Lisa Didion, College of Education special education assistant professor, is the grant principal investigator.
