College of Education alumna Theresa Putnam Genz (09’, MA) has won the 2019 Iowa School Counselor Association Multi-Level School Counselor of the Year Award.

Alumna Janelle Brouwer, who completed the Superintendent Endorsement program in 2014, Educational Specialist in 2015, and a PhD in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies in May of 2018, is serving the Marion Independent School District as superintendent.

It was Andrew Bloom’s experience teaching English as a foreign language in Morocco that first inspired him to pursue teaching as a career.
