Linda R. Baker, College of Education alumna and passionate supporter of education, died Dec. 27 at age 77. Her legacy lives on in the many profound and positive contributions she and her husband Dale have made over the years. The Baker Teacher Leader Center in the UI College of Education is named in her honor.

Alumnus John Mikelson retired from the Army in 2004, but he has never stopped helping veterans and service members get the support they need. That's why he was recently recognized as the 2023 Small Business Administration (SBA) Veterans Small Business Champion of the Year.

UI faculty, alumni net grant to help LGBTQ+ students thrive on campus

Jodi Linley, University of Iowa associate professor in Higher Education and Student Affairs, is part of a $500,000 grant from the Spencer Foundation for first-of-its-kind research on LGBTQ+ college students. The grant is in collaboration with HESA alumni Cindy Ann Kilgo and Alex Lange.
