Growing global
The College of Education’s Global Education Initiatives strengthen existing partnerships and create new opportunities for students and faculty, including programs in Costa Rica, Finland, Ghana, the UK, Japan, Kosovo, and Norway, among other collaborations. Video included.
Linda R. Baker honored as global education champion
Linda R. Baker, alumna, champion of global education, philanthropist, and long-time supporter of the University of Iowa, is the recipient of the 2023 International Impact Award for her efforts to foster cultural competency and global awareness.
International education leader lauded
Amira Nash, alumna and associate director of partnerships and programs at the Baker Teacher Leader Center, is a recipient of the 2023 Global Student Award. The award recognizes one undergraduate and one graduate student who are leaders deeply engaged in international education on campus or abroad.

John Deere Foundation, Iowa join forces to boost school mental health
The John Deere Foundation supports teachers and students with a gift to the University of Iowa’s nationally leading Scanlan Center for School Mental Health, a partnership between the Iowa Board of Regents, Iowa Department of Education, and the University of Iowa’s College of Education.
