The staff spotlight series celebrates and elevates all the people who make the UI College of Education such a special place to work. This spotlight recognizes the critical contributions our staff members make to the College of Education community in support of our faculty and students.
Teresa Suchomel has worked as a Field Experience Associate in the Office of Student Services for seven years. Prior to working in this role, she taught elementary special education and earned a Master of Arts in Education. Additionally, she was a student teaching and practicum supervisor for the Iowa Teacher Education Program for over 10 years, and taught courses for the UI REACH program while serving on the UI REACH admissions committee.

Suchomel also enjoys spreading kindness. Earlier this spring, she initiated a campaign where she painted rocks with various messages and designs. They were put in a basket in the Office of the Dean’s suite welcome area, encouraging people to take one and place it somewhere in the college or on campus. Her mission of bringing joy to others was ultimately fulfilled.
