Gerta Bardhoshi, an associate professor of counselor education and supervision, has been named a top contributor to the Journal of Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development. 

Faculty from the University of Iowa College of Education Special Education and School Psychology programs were awarded a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services.

Kelly Schieltz, an alumna of the University of Iowa, recently joined the University of Iowa College of Education as an assistant professor in School Psychology. 

Rebecca Lara, a student at the University of Iowa College of Education, was recently awarded the 2020 Gilman Scholarship. Gilman scholarship recipients receive up to $5,000 to apply toward their study abroad or internship program costs. Lara, along with eight other undergraduate UI students were chosen from thousands of applicants from colleges and universities across the United States.

Maia Sheppard, a new assistant professor in social studies education, wants to help students learn to address difficult topics in their classrooms.

Ann Santos, a new clinical associate professor in school psychology, wants to teach her students that with great power comes great responsibility. Santos is a three-time alumna of the University of Iowa, earning her Master of Arts degree in rehabilitation counseling, her Education Specialist degree in school psychology, and finally her Ph.D. in school psychology.
