The College of Education has produced many notable educators who have gone on to work in rural parts of Iowa, helping to fill the void in these high-need areas.

Three University of Iowa Belin-Blank Center experts who are internationally renowned in the field of gifted education and talent development – Nicholas Colangelo, Susan Assouline, and Laurie Croft – were recipients of 2024 Iowa Talented and Gifted Association (ITAG) Legacy and Service Awards at the fall meeting in Des Moines.
