The staff spotlight series celebrates and elevates all the people who make the UI College of Education such a special place to work. This spotlight recognizes the critical contributions our staff members make to the College of Education community in support of our faculty and students.


Delaney Thoma has worked as an administrative services coordinator in the College of Education Administration Dean's Office and Office of Student Services for one year. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in industrial design from Iowa State University.

What does your job entail in the College of Education Administration Dean's Office?
I mainly support the Dean's Office and Office of Student Services by maintaining the front office, helping on projects and with other administrative tasks. 

What is your favorite part about working at the College of Education? 
I enjoy interacting with different people, problem-solving, and helping others so I'm really glad I can do it in my everyday work. Also the Devlin Family Cafe.

What is your favorite memory as a Hawkeye?

Tailgating and going to the football games

Where is your favorite place to eat in downtown Iowa City?
Pullman Bar & Diner
