Margo Christensen, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and social studies education in 2023, and Fabian Ouellet-Pinto, who earned a Master of Arts in Teaching English education in May, are the winners of Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Awards to Thailand and Taiwan, respectively, for 2024-25.

The pair are two of 16 University of Iowa students and alumni chosen from a pool of more than 10,000 Fulbright Award applicants from across the country.
Christensen, a native of Ogden, Iowa, will head to Thailand to teach English and create a sports club for members of the local community, while Ouellet-Pinto will teach English and lead creative writing workshops.
