President Wilson Visits the Sukup Family Farm
This October, Charles and Mary Sukup welcomed University of Iowa President Barbara Wilson to the Sukup Family Farm in Dougherty, Iowa. President Wilson also enjoyed visiting with the Sukups’ son, Andrew, a proud Hawkeye and graduate of the UI REACH program, who now works with the family business, Sukup Manufacturing Company.
The university is deeply grateful to the Sukup family for their ongoing commitment to supporting student success, including their generous establishment of the Charles & Mary Sukup UI REACH Directorship, held by William “Bill” Loyd Jr. Their support helps ensure the continued growth and impact of UI REACH, which empowers students with intellectual, cognitive, and learning disabilities to achieve their fullest potential.
UI REACH Alumni Affinity Group
The group consisting of alumni from across the country has been meeting biweekly since October with a representative from the UI Center for Advancement to bring together UI REACH Alumni to build a sustainable affinity group. They are currently working on a postcard campaign for incoming students, developing a social media presence, and planning for the next ReConnect event. If you are a UI REAH alumnus and want to join, contact amanda.remington@foriowa.org.
