As part of an annual, mid-December graduation ceremony, hundreds of University of Iowa students gathered last week at Hancher Auditorium to celebrate the end of an academic journey, and the transition to becoming Iowa alumni.
During commencement, remarks by Lexi Moon, one of Art Education’s newest graduates, were captured by Eastern Iowa CBS affiliate KGAN.
The following excerpt is from an article published by this news outlet:
“Cheers filled Hancher Auditorium as the University of Iowa's College of Education celebrated its newest graduates.”
Dozens of future educators crossed the stage on Thursday, Dec. 18.
Graduates turned their tassels and soaked in the moment.
Lexi Moon, an Art Education graduate, gave remarks during the ceremony and reminded them their work will shape classrooms and communities far beyond Iowa.
‘You chose to challenge yourself, expand your knowledge and grown in the service of others. And that choice reflects something powerful within you. A drive to uplift, empower and unlock the power that exist within every student, teacher, school and community you touch,’ she said.”
