Each year, the Office of the Vice President for Research’s (OVPR) Dare to Discover banner campaign highlights 80 researchers and scholars from across the university.

Research conducted by Chris Patterson, a postdoctoral scholar in the department of psychological and quantitative foundations, was selected to be featured in this year’s campaign.

Patterson, who is from Kewaunee Wisconsin, develops research methods to reduce bias. More specifically, his primary research explores the integration of students’ cultural backgrounds into test development, creating new types of test questions that account for multiple ways of cognitive processing.

The Dare to Discover banners will be displayed throughout downtown Iowa City through March of 2025.
