Sara Nelson

Happy “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday! This week meet alumna Larissa Wilming (’17 Music Performance and Teaching Certification).

Wilming works as a music teacher at Central DeWitt Intermediate and Middle School, teaching guitar, general music, and band lessons for 4ththrough 8thgrade. This is Wilming’s first year as a teacher.

“I enjoy getting to build relationships with every student in my school. They all have different interests, and I get to know every single one of them, which is really special,” says Wilming. “Above all else, I love being able to teach and share the joy of music with my students.”

Wilming is grateful for the real-life teaching opportunities the UI College of Education gave to her.

“The College of Education helped me build a confidence in my teaching. I also got to work with and learn from the best role models,” says Wilming.
