1970

Debra Hedden (BM ’73) is a professor and director of music education at the University of Kansas. There, she teaches undergraduate courses in general music methods, advanced general music methods, curriculum development, and supervises student teachers. Additionally, Hedden founded the KU Youth Chorus, a non-auditioned choir for children in grades 4-8 in which undergraduate methods students and graduate students work alongside her to provide rehearsals and present performances. She has also earned several awards, including two Fulbright Scholar Awards.
