At the beginning of November, hundreds of middle school students from around eastern Iowa attended the 20th Annual International Day at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

Haley Kaplan, a first-year teacher and 2016 UI College of Education graduate in elementary education, had a perfectly organized classroom to welcome her fourth graders to Jefferson Elementary School in Bettendorf, encouraging them to do their best and be school leaders.

The University of Iowa College of Education saw a record-breaking year for those receiving Fulbright grants, with the highly competitive program awarding 2016-2017 English Teaching Assistantships to Lauren Darby, Abigail Grilli, and Amanda Kloser.

Joshua Levai-Baird, a senior Elementary Education major, is one of several College of Education students who have participated in the Adult and Family Literacy Program in West Liberty.
