College of Education Postdoctoral Research Scholar Enrique “David” Degollado was recently recognized with a Postdoctoral Research Scholar/Fellow Excellence Award 2021.

Alex Lange, a graduating doctoral student in the Higher Education and Student Affairs program, researches higher education and transgender students. Lange’s research was recently recognized when they received the Graduate Research Excellence Award for Social Sciences.

Teresa Garringer, the Research Support Manager in the Grant and Research Services Center (GRSC), was recently recognized for her dedication to supporting research when she received the Distinguished Research Administrator Award.

Katharine Broton, an assistant professor in Higher Education and Student Affairs, recently received the Recognizing Research and Innovation Excellence Early Career Scholar of the Year award.

The following University of Iowa College of Education faculty received funding from the UI Obermann Center for Advanced Studies to host special virtual guest speakers in their classes during the spring 2021 semester. The UI Obermann Center for Advanced Studies created the Invite-a-Guest-to-Class mini-grants this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and distance learning.

University of Iowa College of Education doctoral student Carly D. Armour received the National Disability Leadership Award for her dedication to advocating for individuals with disabilities in higher education.
