As we wrap up the 2023-24 academic year and prepare for the one to come, we want to take a moment to highlight the UI REACH program's continuous improvement efforts. This is the fourth year in which we have worked together as a team to identify goals, define objectives, and track our progress on a set of targeted program activities. This is the second year in a row in which we have aligned our timeline with the academic year and have aimed to have objectives completed by the end of the spring semester. This year, we identified seven concrete activities we wanted to accomplish. In the past, we have had as many as 26 objectives, and over the years, we have become more focused in our efforts.

2023-2024 Academic Year Accomplished Objectives:

  • We solidified Salesforce as our primary hub for our student and family contact information
  • We established focus area activities aimed at supporting students’ achievement of person-centered planning goals
  • We firmed up the documentation of our standard operating procedures (SOPs)for the implementation of our student support teams  and person-centered planning programming, program evaluation efforts, business practices as well as our admissions and advocacy processes
  • We ensured compliance of the accreditation standards established by the inclusive postsecondary National Coordinating Center
  • We expanded our UI REACH advocacy programming to include actions and activities for family advocates
  • We implemented a list of activities, aimed at maintaining and increasing staff satisfaction

In addition, we continue to gather feedback from our stakeholders using a variety of informal and formal mechanisms. We now have six years of longitudinal student satisfaction data, with the most recent survey returning our highest student satisfaction rate with 97.78% of 2023-2024 students indicating that they are either “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with their overall UI REACH experience.
