Happy “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday! This week meet alumnus Will Stockman (BA ’14 Mathematics Education, Secondary Education).

Stockman is currently on his third year as a math teacher at Benton High School in Benton, Iowa. He also works as the head varsity boys’ soccer coach.

“I love being able to work with children and make a real impact in their lives,” says Stockman. “I was blessed in school by having high school teachers who made math enjoyable to learn, and I want to be able to teach with passion and pass this enjoyment I have on to my students.”

Stockman is grateful for how applicable College of Education classes were to a real-life classroom setting.

“It is impossible to simulate what happens on a daily basis in a classroom because it is always changing. Despite this, when I graduated I felt prepared to enter the classroom,” says Stockman. “Having professors at the College of Education who were passionate about their own teachings made it easy for me to see the usefulness of what they were teaching.”
