Guess what day it is…? “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday! This week meet alumnus Matt Nerem (Bachelor of Science 95’ Physical Education).

Nerem has worked for Tipton Community Schools in Tipton, Iowa, for the past 23 years teaching kindergarten through 8thgrade physical education. He also coaches high school wrestling and 7thgrade boys track.

During his time at Iowa, Nerem was an All-American wrestler and received the McPike award, an award given to the senior with the highest grade point average on the wrestling team.

Matt Nerem says he loves his job and is happy he is able to use his wrestler background to mentor young athletes.

“I enjoy helping kids learn new things and seeing their excitement when they experience success or reach a goal.”
