Happy “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday! This week meet alumnus Kevin Herdegen (MA ’08 Educational Policy and Leadership Studies).

 

Herdegen is currently in his eighth year teaching mathematics at Pella Christian High School in Pella, Iowa. He also serves on the school’s School Improvement Team,

which shares a role in planning staff in-services and curricular changes. This is his 13th year teaching overall, and he previously taught at Cedar Rapids Xavier High School.

 

“I love the idea of being able to educate and nurture students to one day serve in their own unique way,” says Herdegen. “I enjoy the challenge of encouraging each student to develop their skills in ways they never imagined.”

 

Herdegen says he is grateful to the College of Education for giving him a new perspective on school leadership and what it takes to be a successful school leader.
