Happy “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday! This week meet alumna Katie Radtke (MA ’15 Higher Education and Student Affairs).

Radtke serves as the Coordinator for New Student and Family Programs in the Office of Student Development at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She plans campus-wide programs for first-year and transfer students and their families, including summer orientation, welcome week, and family weekend.

“I find joy putting students and their families at ease, whether it be answering questions about our programs or steering them toward proper resources,” says Radtke. “I am grateful for the little moments that empower students and families to feel capable and ready to navigate Marquette.”

Radtke is grateful to the HESA program for teaching her how to put students at the center of her work.

“My experience with HESA provided an amazing foundation for student-centered work. Our classes always emphasized keeping students at the heart of what we do,” says Radtke. “Thanks to my time at Iowa, I continually reflect in my daily work on how to better serve students and their families. It has become second nature.”
