Happy “Where Do You Work” Wednesday! This week we are highlighting alumnus Daniel Schnall (MA ‘16 Higher Education and Student Affairs).

Schnall is from San Antonio, TX, and now works as the Senior Assistant Director for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Washington University in St. Louis. He has worked here since 2018.

Schnall feels privileged to be a part of the college search journey and glad he gets to be an advocate for so many high-achieving students all over the world.

“I love being in a position that promotes equity and access in higher education, and I love getting high school students excited about the possibilities that the college experience can provide to them,” Schnall says.

Schnall gained many valuable lessons throughout his time at the UI College of Education, including the opportunity he got in his practicum.

“My practicum experience in Admissions at Carver College of Medicine served as an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while I was still earning my degree, and it even turned into a full-time job there,” Schnall says. “In my work today, I carry the lessons learned not only from the classroom and from that practicum but from learning all of the different perspectives of the other students around me.”
