Guess what day it is…? “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday! This week meet alumna Bridget Owen (BA ’00 Music, Iowa Teaching Licensure Program).
Owen is currently in her 15th year of teaching music at Tipton Elementary and Middle School in Tipton, Iowa. Prior to working at Tipton, she taught at Anamosa Elementary and Monticello Middle School for four years.
“I love getting to work with kids every day teaching them music,” Owen says. “The music classroom is a place where all kids can be successful regardless of how they are doing in their other academic areas.”
Owen says the University of Iowa College of Education helped her to become more self- reliant.
“No one else is going to do it for you. You need to motivate yourself,” she says.
