Guess what day it is…? “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday! This week meet alumnus Tyler Pauley (BA ’12 Elementary Education).

Pauley is currently in his second-year of teaching science and social studies at North Central Junior High in the Iowa City Community School District. Prior to working at North Central, he worked at Garner Elementary School in the same district.

"Having strong relationships with students helps establish a trust that allows me to show them the joy of learning,” Pauley says. “I strive to make them not only better students, but better citizens.

Pauley says he is grateful The University of Iowa College of Education provided him with great research-based teaching strategies that he can use on a daily basis.

“The College of Education taught me the importance of technology in an ever changing and evolving world,” Pauley says. “Using technology as a tool improves our lives and our learning. With this mindset, I plan and teach lessons that encourage students to learn to their greatest potential.”
