Adam Harry joined the University of Iowa College of Education this fall as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Instrumental Music Education.

Adam Harry earned his Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests focus on issues of inclusivity, educational access, and equity in music education. He hopes that his work generates a dialogue about the ways in which professionals communicate to their students about musical ability and success.

Harry is looking forward to working with great colleagues with diverse interests and engaging students about important issues in teaching and music education.

“I hope to uphold my program's tradition of mentoring highly qualified teachers and leaders in the field of music education,” Harry says. “I hope to promote social awareness, critical engagement, and a commitment to educational equity in my students.”
