What does your job entail with UI REACH?
My main focus at UI REACH is to support students and families during the transition process out of UI REACH. Once they graduate, I continue to work on supporting UI REACH alumni as they work toward achieving their post UI REACH goals. I also assist with several social engagements throughout the year which includes an annual ReConnect where incoming and current students, alumni and their families attend.
What is your favorite part about working at the College of Education?
My favorite part of working in a college is seeing the positive impact we have on students' lives. Watching them grow, learn, and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding.
What is your favorite memory as a Hawkeye?
My favorite memory is each year when UI REACH students graduate. To see the joy and sense of accomplishment that they feel when they cross that stage will live with me long after I am done at UI REACH.
What are your hobbies, interests, or special talents? What would colleagues be surprised to know about you?
My wife and I love to travel. We have been to five different countries in the last three years. My family has a 100-year-old farm outside of Iowa City.
Where is your favorite place to eat in downtown Iowa City?
You never can go wrong with a George's cheeseburger!
What is something on campus that you look forward to participating in or doing?
The first fall tailgate of the year.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? (No limitations)
Switzerland.
