More than 90 College of Education faculty and graduate students will present research at the AERA, NCME annual meetings, including many graduate students from the Educational Measurement and Statistics program
Wednesday, April 12, 2023

More than 90 University of Iowa College of Education faculty and graduate students joined an estimated 15,000 scholars from across the nation and globe, including many alumni and a UI administrator, to present cutting-edge research, exchange ideas, engage and network with colleagues, and pursue professional advancement at the American Education Research Association and National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) annual meetings.

Each year, these two meetings comprise the world's largest gatherings of education researchers while providing a showcase for groundbreaking, innovative studies in an array of areas. The 2023 Annual Meetings are dual-component conferences. The AERA place-based component was held in Chicago, Illinois, April 13-16. The virtual component will be held online May 4-5.

The AERA is a professional organization representing education researchers in the United States and around the world. AERA's mission is to advance knowledge about education and promote the use of research in educational practice.

NCME is a community of measurement scientists and practitioners who work together to advance theory and applications of educational measurement to benefit society. The NCME annual meeting is held in conjunction with AERA's Annual Meeting.

The 2023 National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME) Annual Meeting also took place April 12-15. There were also virtual training sessions and presentations from March 28-30, 2023.

Following is a schedule which highlights research and poster presentations and panels involving UI College of Education faculty and graduate students for both the in-person and virtual portions of both the NCME and AERA annual meetings:
