Guess what day it is…? It’s “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday! This week meet alumna Anna Haller (BA ’18 History and the Teacher Licensure Social Studies Education program).

Haller, originally from Wheeling, Illinois, has worked at Mount Pleasant High School in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, for two years as a social studies teacher. As she enters her third year of teaching, Haller is moving to Salem, Wisconsin, to work at Central High School as a social studies teacher.

"I love it when I am able to help a kid have an 'ah-ha' moment,” Haller says. “When their face lights up because they finally understand something they've been trying to understand in class.”

Outside of teaching, Haller was also the bowling coach at Mount Pleasant High School.

Haller attributes her success as an educator to her time at the College of Education staff.

“Without the support of the college of education staff and the opportunities provided, I would not be where I am today,” Haller says. “All of the technological focus, the professors being extremely kind, and a supportive group of peers, especially during my student teaching semester, were all factors that continue to influence my teaching.”
