Happy Wednesday Hawkeyes! We are excited to introduce Elisabeth Boulund for this week’s “Where Do You Work?” Wednesday.

A native of Iowa City, Boulund is a second-generation University of Iowa College of Education alumna. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with endorsements in Reading, English, and Language Arts in 2018. She is now earning her Master of Arts in Special Education from Iowa, which she will complete in May, 2020.

While earning her master’s degree, Boulund is a resource teacher at Alexander Elementary School in Iowa City, Iowa. She has been working in this position for two years.

“I love my students and their energy,” says Boulund. “When they meet a goal, or understand a new concept, the light in their eyes makes it worth it. I love seeing my students work hard and the pride they feel when they’ve accomplished something.”

Boulund says that her classes and experiences at the University of Iowa prepared her for the realities of working in a classroom.

“My UI education gave me the opportunity to work in a diverse set of classrooms, and that experience was incredibly valuable,” she says.
