Financial blog WalletHub talked with University of Iowa College of Education's Saba Ali, associate dean for research, about how policy makers can help those who have been displaced by innovation as well as what skills can best help individuals be competitive in a changing workplace. Ali was featured in an article looking at 2018's most and least innovative states. Iowa didn't fare well, landing in the No. 46 spot. 

Rankings were calculated by looking at 22 indicators of innovation-friendliness, including the share of STEM professionals, research and development spending per capita, and tech-company density.
