Results of a study of summer reading programs conducted by the Iowa Reading Research Center (housed within the University of Iowa College of Education) suggest that the three approaches studied were, on average, equally effective at maintaining students’ reading abilities. The Intensive Summer Reading Program study was conducted in 43 participating Iowa school districts and one community organization between May 31 and August 11, 2016. Learn more about the study results in this story from the Iowa Reading Research Center.
