Please register HERE for Making Future STEAM Educators: An Introduction to Makerspace Tools, Technologies, and Teaching (Fall 2025)

BTLC Credit: IS, STEAM

In this workshop, students will participate in a hands-on, "quick-fire" STEAM activity and get an introduction to what STEAM is, why it's important, and how to facilitate it in their classrooms. We will also provide an overview of what will be involved in the other workshops in the STEAM track and discuss the STEAM track's unique volunteer opportunities. This workshop is required for participation in the STEAM track and should be attended first, if possible. Please bring a laptop to the workshop, as you will need it for some of the hands-on and collaborative activities.

What You Will Learn:

  1. Understand and gain comfort with STEAM tools, technologies, and practices

  2. Learn and be able to apply tools and strategies to facilitate transformative STEAM learning experiences.
