Presenter(s): Hannah Gorsh, PhD student, Former 5-12 Social Studies and PK-12 TAG Teacher

Description: Globalization is only mentioned in the standards in 15 U.S. states. Why is that? In this workshop, we will learn a brief history of global citizenship education, and the research which examines the hesitance to embark on GCE in the k-12 classroom. Participants will build capacity on how to infuse a global lens into their future classrooms and make it relevant to their future students.

Learning goals: 1) Participants will understand the reasons for teacher hesitancy when it comes to GCE. 2) Participants will critique GCE unit ideas. 3) Participants will collaboratively generate a justified list of GCE resources for their future classrooms.
