BTLC/ML Workshop 1: Introduction and Home Language Support

Description: This workshop is MANDATORY for students in the ML Track. The workshop on home language support aligns with the Core Principle of valuing students' identities. After attending this workshop, you will be able to identify effective strategies for providing home language support and engaging with multilingual learners' families and communities. 

Learning Goals: 1. We will learn about useful concepts that help us think about this topic and why home languages are vital for student learning; 2. We will discuss principles and practices for supporting and incorporating students’ home languages in the classroom.
