In partnership with the Iowa City Community School District (ICCSD), the Baker Teacher Leader Center (BTLC) offers a social, emotional, behavioral health (SEBH) track which includes a minimum of 4 SEBH professional development workshops covering topics that include, but are not limited to: SEBH core competencies, mental health first aid, youth suicide prevention, intersectionality of identity and mental health, preventing compassion fatigue, self-reflection and culturally responsive/inclusive SEBH. In addition, students enrolled in this professional development track must complete a minimum of 10 hours of volunteer work with an ICCSD Student, Family Advocate (SFA), or a school counselor. Our ICCSD partnership leads on this project are Coreen Frank and Lindsey Schluckebier.
