Margaret Buckton and Larry Sigel
As part of the College of Education’s Distinguished Speakers Series, Margaret Buckton and Larry Sigel presented “Iowa Demographics and Education Funding, Then and Now” on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015.

Buckton and Sigel are partners at Iowa School Finance Information Services (ISFIS), which provides electronic finance tools and financial consulting services to Iowa’s public schools with the mission of empowering school leaders with the tools and information to connect with various stakeholders for the benefit of students.

“Their material is especially pertinent to understanding the direction of higher education in Iowa," said Dean Nicholas Colangelo.

During their presentation, Buckton and Sigel addressed changes for Iowa’s student population over the past couple of decades, as well as Iowa’s economy and how education funding decisions and policies have responded.
