Description: In this workshop, students will gain hands-on experience participating in and designing STEAM activities using electronics tools or kits. For the hands-on STEAM challenge, students will get to choose between making a Makey Makey musical instrument, an Arduino musical light show, or an electronic textile pillow. They will also learn about other electronics tools and kits available in schools for STEAM learning. They'll be provided with additional resources and ideas for activities they might facilitate in their classrooms, and they'll have an opportunity to try designing their own STEAM activity using electronics tools or kits.
Learning Objective:
1. To become familiar with a variety of makerspace tools, technologies, and materials. 2. To develop the necessary skills and mindsets for facilitating integrated STEAM learning experiences for students. 3. To learn how to design and facilitate interest-driven, inclusive, and culturally sustaining STEAM activities.
