Supporting and Advocating for Current or Former Foster Care Youth in the Classroom

Description: Providing Support and Advocacy in the Classroom for Students with Foster Care Experience. 

Learning Goals: 1) Participants will be able to recall facts about students who have experienced the foster care system and locate resources available online. 2) Participants can identify behaviors that are generally associated with children who have experienced the foster care system. 3) Participants can demonstrate coping skills to students while applying them to classroom management techniques. 4) Participants will feel comfortable facilitating conversations with foster care parents and other school staff about the needs of students who have experienced the foster care system.
