Duane Anderson (B.A. University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse, M.A. Northwestern University, Ph.D. University of Michigan) was an authority on community college administration. Dr. Anderson served as President of Juneau County College and Columbia County College in Wisconsin.

Duane D. Anderson joined the UI College of Education faculty in 1965. He was a Professor of Higher Education and Director of the UI Office of Community College Affairs until his retirement in 1991. Dr. Anderson served as a division chair in the College of Education from 1972 to 1978. He directed and coordinated Great Teachers and Administrative Dimensions workshops at Lake Okoboji for many years and was a frequent presenter at state and national meetings.

He was widely recognized for his work with community colleges. He wanted to be known as a good teacher, but he was also an authority on the development of community colleges and a strong voice for them.
