Biography: 

Mimmo Rotella studied art in Naples. In 1951, he received a Fullbright Fellowship to go to the University of Kansas City in Missouri. Upon his return to Rome, he established a studio. In 1960, he became a member of the French group the Nouveaux Réalistes (New Realists) at the invitation of Pierre Restany, and he moved to Paris. His work combines photographs, décollage, Abstract Expressionism, and popular culture.
