In Fall 2014, the College of Education and the DeLTA Center began a partnership that builds on the strengths of both organizations and responds to the need for more high-quality, multi-disciplinary work examining how individuals learn and the current and potential role of schools in contributing to students’ development.

The missions of the College and DeLTA have significant overlap.  Several College of Education faculty have been active members of DeLTA for several years. With DeLTA now sharing research space in Lindquist Center, we believe that the partnership will prove important for both organizations and the University of Iowa.

The partnership is designed to promote collaborative opportunities for faculty and students that will result in shared and innovative research products, including journal articles, conference papers, and external grant applications. We are also working to ensure that the partnership yields opportunities that go beyond scholarship, including cross-listed courses, membership on examining committees, and opportunities for graduate students to engage in professional development opportunities that build their expertise and enlarge their professional and social networks.

We are excited and optimistic about this innovative opportunity. On this page, you’ll learn more about the ongoing and planned activities that illustrate the promise of the College of Education and DeLTA Center partnership.
