The College of Education Commencement and Teacher Education Program Recognition Ceremony is held at the end of the fall and spring semesters to recognize all of the graduating Teacher Education Program students.

  • This is a formal cap and gown event. Information for those interested in “walking early” is available from the registrar.
  • Elementary Education students receive their B.A. degree from the College of Education.
  • Secondary Education students will also be recognized by their program faculty for completing the Teacher Education Program and being recommended to the state for licensure. Secondary Education students may also attend a separate formal commencement event hosted by the college of their major program (College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Graduate College, etc).
  • Please contact the Office of Student Services if you have questions.

Iowa Graduation App

The Office of the Registrar created the Iowa Graduation App, which anyone (students, staff, guests, etc.) can utilize to locate commencement information. This smartphone app can make personalized schedules, allow users to view campus and venue maps, browse a digital version of the commencement program (when it becomes available), access FAQs and more! For this fall, the event portion of the app will only list the individual ceremonies. The list of ceremonies can be found on the Office of the Registrar’s website.
