Grad student offers insights on celebrating points of pride

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Resource Center recently celebrated 10 years of service with a rededication ceremony. But members of the University of Iowa community have spent decades working toward making the campus a more welcoming, inclusive environment.

The University of Iowa’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Resource Center recently marked a decade of serving the community. While opening the center was a significant milestone in the university’s LGBTQ history, it is one of many accomplishments spearheaded by people committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming campus. chanelle thomas, a multicultural programs graduate assistant and a graduate student in the UI College of Education's School Counseling Masters Degree Program, offers insights in this Iowa Now story.
