Social emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Technology can be utilized to help students build greater connections and address developmental and social gaps, naturally complementing SEL practices and themes. This workshop will briefly review key concepts of SEL, illustrate how SEL and technology intersect, and demonstrate some tools that you can implement within your future classroom.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Baker Teacher Leader Center, 319-335-5623, in advance.
