m ryan noble is an interdisciplinary artist and licensed art therapist. He explores the canon of art history and questions its relationships to issues of today, including sexism, gender norms, and national identity. Ryan and his family moved to Iowa City just over one year ago, and he is actively involved in Public Space One. Ryan’s current project about freedom questions gender roles and encourages audience participation. We will also discuss the work of Ana Mendieta and Miriam Schapiro (both UI grads) in the Stanley’s permanent collection.
