The University of Iowa Stanley Museum of Art continues its smART Talk series on Thursday, October 11 at 3pm with UI Law Professor Stella Burch Elias. Elias is a Professor of Law at the University of Iowa. She teaches Immigration Law, International Law, and Comparative Law. Her research on immigration and nationality laws has been published in leading law reviews and journals, including those at Yale Law School, Columbia Law School, U.C. Berkeley Law School, Boston University Law School, and Wisconsin Law School. She will bring her experience working with immigrant communities in Iowa to the discussion of works in the Stanley’s permanent collection by Toyin Ojih Odutola (a visual artist born in Nigeria who lives and works in New York) and Diego Rivera (a Mexican artist who worked in the US and Mexico).
