The Iowa City Foreign Relations Council seeks to promote understanding of international issues by hosting community forums with expert speakers from around the world.

Founded in 1893, the Iowa City Foreign Relations Council (ICFRC) is a non-profit organization of community and university people interested in learning more about global issues, international affairs, and U.S. foreign policy.

The Council hosts experts who speak on foreign policy, international relations, law, arts, the environment, politics, diplomacy, and current events. Events are scheduled primarily during the academic year, held from 12:00 to 1:15 PM. After a break at 1:00 PM to allow those who must leave to make their exit, the final fifteen minutes are dedicated to a question and answer period. A locally catered lunch is available for purchase.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Baker Teacher Leader Center, 319-335-5623, in advance.
