Tentative dates (July 29 – August 8, 2019)

eSwatini (formerly Swaziland) has one of the highest incidents of HIV/AIDS in the world. We will visit and work in a school composed primarily of children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS crisis. Additionally, students will volunteer for a day at a Refugee camp and learn about the effects of civil war and poverty. Students will volunteer in schools and at a pop up pediatric medical clinic. Students will also participate in a Safari and additional cultural outings.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact the Baker Teacher Leader Center, 319-335-5623, in advance.
