Presenter: Laura Short, Education Program Associate, Population Education; Laura has extensive experience in outdoor and informal education. She was an outdoor education teacher and Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs at Congressional School in Falls Church, VA and spent 14 years as the Associate Director, Program Coordinator and an environmental educator at Nature’s Classroom in Massachusetts. Laura earned her B.A. in International Relations from Wellesley College.

Discover interdisciplinary lessons that connect K-6 learners with relevant global issues while building skills in science, social studies, math, and literacy. Engage in games, simulations, hands-on demonstrations, and discussions that explore human population growth and related social and environmental issues. Receive a code to access an online library of over 40 classroom-ready, standards-aligned lesson plans for elementary grades, out-of-classroom projects, readings, recommended children’s books, and more.
