Hi, Lovers of Young Adult Lit! You are invited to participate in our College of Education Young Adult Literature Book Club. We will be meeting the last Sunday of every month to discuss a new book. This book club is also part of a research study about student response to literature, specifically how readers construct understandings of gender and body within print and graphic texts. Participation in the study is not required to be part of the book club; however, I do hope you will consider contributing to the research! Participation in the study requires no additional work beyond the normal expectations of the book club. Consent forms will be distributed at the start of each session if you are interested in being included in the study.

Description of this months book via GoodReads: Every summer, Rose goes with her mom and dad to a lake house in Awago Beach. It's their getaway, their refuge. Rosie's friend Windy is always there, too, like the little sister she never had. But this summer is different. Rose's mom and dad won't stop fighting, and when Rose and Windy seek a distraction from the drama, they find themselves with a whole new set of problems. It's a summer of secrets and sorrow and growing up, and it's a good thing Rose and Windy have each other.
